Well, i hope you have read our article about our Abracadabra lunch experience. So if not, have a read of that first. Then come back.. please hehe.
So we just had enough time to get back to our accommodation and have a shower before we were off and back for our evening meal. It certainly didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was incredible! Nothing like it was just a few hours earlier.
So table service (much more like we are used to). Straight away you can see the menu is bigger, with a selection of desserts you do not get during the lunch service. Another thing you notice is that you have so much space around you. Not once did we feel like our conversation was being listened to by fellow diners.
So tonight we didn’t have any starters (mainly because we were still full from lunch). But we had what is called a grannies tea; you can get this as an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage. Being the responsible driver I am, opted for the no alcohol version.
Tonight Tina has the Chicken and Chorizo Salad. While Lee had the Chargrilled Mushroom Chicken. So bare in mind we have spent four weeks in the south of Spain before Christmas 2015. The home of the chorizo, so when we say that the chorizo here was not as spicy as Tina would have liked. We have had some pretty spicy stuff in Spain. But ladder those pieces on and the spiciness ramps up perfectly. However, on the other side of the table. The chicken was incredibly moist, the potatoes were soft and salty, the mushroom sauce was so deep in flavour. If I were allowed, I would have licked the plate clean, but the boss gave me a look. You know the one, the one that said do and die!
So for dessert, keeping with the Spanish theme. Tina went for the churros, and I went for the chocolate and raspberry brownie. Afterward, we certainly needed rolling out the door and back to the car.
We would recommend visiting Abracadabra for both lunch and dinner when you are in Rotorua.
One thing we would suggest… BOOK YOUR TABLE IN ADVANCE.
We saw numerous people coming in wanting tables, only to be told sorry we don’t have anything. Only what is outside (which is not ideal when it’s winter and pretty chilly).
Why not check them out at their Website or the various social pipes. So Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
