It was towards the end of September 2016 and it was the Brisbane river fire fireworks display. The event was a free event which meant every man and his dog was going. Little did I expect how busy it was to be. Indeed every man and his dog turned out for the annual celebrations.
This was the final main event while in Australia before heading back to Blighty. Typically a week-long festival full of various events culminating on...
Nandos is normally really good, especially in the UK. However, when we visited this Nandos in Ipswich, Queensland we were left disappointed both times with the incompetence of the service given.
We were heading up to Toowoomba to experience the Carnival of Flowers. We stopped off at a service station in Plainlands for-a spot of breakfast. You know, the sort of breakfast that would clog up all your vital arteries.
Our final visit to Eat Street Market before we headed home. Sampling some of the very best street food you will find in Brisbane. Have a read of the soft shell taco, loaded friends, and our unique dessert you see here.
I recently stayed at the Brisbane City YHA as a guest of YHA Australia. This is a review of my stay in a 4 share female dorm with en-suite. This gives those travelling on a budget on what to expect when coming to the Brisbane City YHA.
Well, the Wicked Ice Cream Co. Or the not so Wicked Ice Cream Co as it should be called. Everywhere we have eaten ice cream you have the ability to sample some before you buy but oh no not here.
This is a very famous chocolate dessert shop set up by the chef Max Brenner; he has quite a few restaurants/ shops in Australia and of course I had to give it a go being the queen of desserts. We went to the restaurant based at Southbank in Brisbane (Queensland).
Home to my mum and youngest sister. Rosewood is located around 60 minutes west of Brisbane. To put it into a context of how remote this little town is, you have a single supermarket which is by English standards, tiny.
So we were coming to the end of our 2-week tour up to the northern tropics of Queensland. Stopping off at the tourist town of Hervey Bay. Hervey Bay is a typical spot for tourists both young and old heading over to Fraser Island.
Fremantle Prison, what an experience. We only had a short visit in Perth and after our Urban Adventures tour. The tour gave us such an intrigue into the life of the prison we had and go inside.
Every Sunday, down in Brisbane at the Morrison, you have a jazz and blues jam. You get musicians to come from across the city, perform for free with other musicians. Arrive early so you can get yourself a parking space.
Hogs Breath a leading chain restaurant in Australia; this branch was in Ipswich. We came to this restaurant as a celebration dinner for lee’s little sister's eighteenth birthday. It does have a few parking spaces but not that many and as we went on a Friday night and it was busy.
Lake Wivenhoe, well this huge, and I mean huge dam. Had to release millions and millions of gallons of water back in 2011. This lead to some of the worst flooding the area had ever seen.
What a whirlwind adventure filled day we had at Australia Zoo; we went with Lees family which meant nine of us descending on the park on a school holiday too. As you could imagine a little manic but a good day was about to descend on us.
Tibooburra's run by Bronwen and Peter, they are honestly the most welcoming people I have met. Their stunning newly built home has three beautiful bedrooms on the lower floor. They are immaculately decorated, and each has their own colour theme. This place was so comforting; I instantly felt right at home.
My Place is a lovely locals hangout is located on Pier Street, in the heart of Perth's central city. With excellent transport links and not far from the action.
The Aviary restaurant is placed in the city centre of Perth's high street. It's located upstairs and looks out onto the shops below. Very convenient but I can't help but wonder there must be a better place for this to be.
