A Piece of Cake is a little boutique cake, and cupcake shop in Gibraltar is a little-hidden gem and here’s why.
You would of never of guessed this little place is here; we only made a b – line fore it as lee’s sister had been following them on Facebook and wanted to try their tempting delights. It isn’t on the main high street, and Lee had to use Google maps it to find its location.
I have to say I’m pretty impressed with their presence being on Facebook and that’s the only reason we went as lee’s sister is as cupcake crazy as me.
Even when we were walking up the street, it only has a small sign and no other real pointers that a cake shop was also there.
Food Quality
Well, we entered this tiny little shop front was one of my favourite sights rows of handmade, exquisitely decorated artisan cupcakes. Oh my beautiful days, unlike me I know what I wanted almost straight away! Chocolate peanut butter cupcake! Hmm, it was delicious and as an avid baker myself, I could tell the ingredients used were of extremely high quality. It tasted so delicious; it even had a hidden cream filling. Yum yum, I wish I just brought more than one. But don’t worry I had a bit of Lees too. Hehe.
Value for Money at Piece of Cake
As we are in Gibraltar, all the prices were in English sterling and they don’t accept Euros. The prices are the same as they would be in England, the prices range from £1.60 to £2.20 per cupcake. They didn’t have any slices of cake for sale or any other products, but they do make custom cakes to order.
This cost is I’m sure reflective of the quality of the ingredients that they use and also the branded products they combine into their cakes too.
Atmosphere
The place was very charming, and the lady who served us was really helpful, we couldn’t have asked for more from our visit.
It is tough to give a high score on atmosphere for a shop of this nature. Although the score seems harsh below it is be all means no reflection on the quality of the cakes.
