So we made a quick stop at Burleigh Heads, in Queensland. I say quickly; it was just a quick swim in the sea and a stop off for some delicious ice-cream.
So one of the recommendations of Lees family, was this cute but rather demure little ice-cream shop, just of the main stretch of shops.
They’re located on the stretch of shops right opposite the main beach area, there is a lot of competition down this little stretch of shops, with endless amounts to choose from, but do check out this little gem out.
Food Quality
The ice-cream was clearly handmade, it was very creamy, soft and just melted on your tongue. I had two scoops. Obviously, one was hazelnut, and the other was caramel. Both were exquisite, but I think the hazelnut one was my favourite, funnily enough, as I always seem drawn to the nutty chocolate ones.
Value for Money
The two scoop ice cream in a tub was $7 Australian dollars; I thought this was ok. It wasn’t the biggest serving of ice cream I’ve ever had, but the taste more than made up for the smaller serve size.
Atmosphere
Unfortunately, there wasn’t much of an atmosphere; it was a small shop front with only us sitting down enjoying our ice cream. I believe most of their trade must come from walking traffic. The lady behind the counter was nice enough, but we didn’t get much interaction with her, other then; ‘What can I get you’, no offering for us to try flavours but what would you like.
