We love to celebrate St. Valentines day. But I do have some issues with this day.
They are thus follows:
- You should never leave it to valentines day to celebrate your love and affection for your beloved. Leaving it to just one day will be destined to end in tears.
- I hate the way it has been portrayed in the sense that you have to buy cards and gifts to express your love. Not only that, but if you want to go out for a meal if will set you back an extortionate amount of money.
Not only that though, but the food is no different to that you ate the day before. Nor will it be different to what you would eat tomorrow at the same place.
It’s just a huge commercial ploy to extort more money from you to line the fat cats coffers.
Anyway, I could go on and on about these commercial holidays we have here.
We make a pledge to make it more special be creating and eating a home-made three course meal together. One where we all get involved in the creating of the meal.
This year we ditched the starters and make two homemade pizzas (we did cheat and get packet pizza dough). Both buried deep with all the meats, two types of cheese, all on a delicious BBQ sauce base.
All while playing out new purchase Kingdomino. A very simple and quick to learn game based on creating the most complete grid around your castle. You can see what I mean below.
It was great celebrating our family and my love for my wife, best friend, and mother to my little boy.
