Oh, what a sweet delight Victoria Lodge was after our Mammoth driving sessions further north up the island. As we checked in we got chatting about the local attractions and what was on offer in this small but beautifully varied town. Our room was a spotless and comfortable room with everything we could need, mini kitchenette, Sky tv, en-suite bathroom with luxury shower and spa facilities. Yep, you read right, we got our outdoor hot tub (heated by the natural hot springs found all over Rotorua.
This was a lovely place to rest our heads, we were so close to everything, walking distance from the centre of town, local supermarkets, and local parks.
As you can see by the pictures it was beautifully decorated, and it was a lovely place to stay, we took full advantage of the outside hot tub. Okay, so the first thing to remember is that we were in Rotorua in winter! Yep, so not the best start but we filled this stone bath outside space with beautifully warm water and it was glorious, it was so nice sitting outside in this lovely hot water, watching the stars. Perfect.
They do have an opportunity to buy things from the minibar too, which was certainly tempting, but I must resist the urge of chocolate. Hehe
The bed was comfortable too, so many nights I have spent wide awake because the bed was so uncomfortable but this was heaven.
We certainly had a great time in Rotorua; we had amazing experiences, and Victoria Lodge has some great discounts for the majority of the attractions too, definitely check in with them for you book anything to do.
