We Were Meant To Have Tapas But Ended Up At Trattoria Italiana

This small little restaurant is quite tucked out the way in a small part of Elviria. We arrived to eat at another tapas restaurant but it was closed for winter, so we took a look around the little quadrant of shops and decided to eat at this Italian place. I can’t say I was exactly thrilled as I had set my heart on tapas and it was slightly chilly that day and sitting outside was a little uncomfortable, but I wasn’t disheartened for long.

Food Quality

So in my slightly disgruntled state, I ordered a pepperoni pizza, yes I know, another pizza but no matter how much my heart desired Spanish tapas it was a purely Italian menu, so pizza it was.

After a little bit of a wait this beautiful pizza arrived, it looked lovely, proper handmade base. I certainly wasn’t disappointed it tasted even better than it looked, it was crispy, light and full of flavour. Yum!

Lee was also impressed, and we both thought it was the best pizza we have had in Spain, which was saying something at this point as we had tried a few by. Hehe

Value for Money

These pizzas back in England would have cost a bomb, in Britain, we put a high price on this beautiful but straightforward handmade food. But in Spain, they don’t! They provide this high-quality food for what seems like no extra price, they use good ingredients and make from scratch as the norm, you would think this should be the same across the board but alas it’s not. So yes this little slice of Italy in Spain was excellently priced and completely and utterly value for money.

Atmosphere

We had only just arrived in time before the kitchen was due to close until the evening at this time the restaurant was pretty empty. As I previously said it was also a little chilly and there were no outdoor heating units here, in the summer I know this wouldn’t be a problem but it was the middle of December, and I was cold. The staff were very friendly, and we even got to meet the chef who prepared our food, who was very gracious of our compliments.

I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted a decent Italian pizza in Elviria, near Marbella.
