This restaurant is located upstairs above Munchies ice cream shop on Double Six, in Legian. It has a little street parking, but not much as this is a busy tourist area. But luckily our hotel was about ten minutes away, so perfect walking distance.
Food Quality
I had BBQ chicken with rice which was incredibly spicy and had a side salad with a raw fish sauce dressing, why Bali, why! The spice was bearable on my chicken, but I really couldn’t deal with the very odd salad dressing. Lee went with a real Balinese staple ‘nasi goreng’ a beautiful, simple looking dish. But full of sweet, rich spices of chicken and rice with a fried egg on top. It doesn’t always come with a side of the chicken state with a nice peanut sauce. But this time, he was lucky, and they were delicious.
I think my drink was my favourite thing from this place; I had a ‘Wedang Jahe Sereh,’ a ginger lemongrass tea sweetened with honey. I was in complete heaven. It was sweet and sour with the lemon and with a depth of flavour from the crushed ginger. Oooh, it was so good I make my version wherever I can.
Value for Money
For everything, we ordered it was less than a tenner, very cheap by UK standards but still pretty pricey by Balinese standards but we were staying in a very commercial area.
Atmosphere
As this was upstairs and to be honest a bit out of the way but it was nice to be off the road and away from and the barrage of local sellers.
