Our Pesto Pizza at Sacred Ground in Bali

This beautiful little slice of paradise in the bustling streets of Legian, in Kuta. It has two separate sitting areas, one on the street side and a seating area on the side street. We sat on the side street area and right under the fan, on yes it was such a good spot, tranquil each.

I started with a “Monkey Forest Smoothie”, a mixture of vanilla ice cream, bananas, peanut butter, and a little honey for sweetness, oh my god! It was seriously impressive, it was all the flavours I’m naturally drawn too, and it tasted amazing. Lee tried an “Albens Cider”, it’s advertised everywhere, and he thought he’d give it a go and as a fan of the good stuff, he wasn’t disappointed.

I ordered Cassava Chips and the “Widi” Pizza, I’ve never heard of Cassava Chips before. They were super crispy and had been coated with a delicious seasoning; they went perfectly with the Rita dip. Mmmmmmm so yummy I wish I had some now, hehe.

The pizza was excellent too, called ‘widi’ and had a pesto base instead of a tomato one, it was divine! It was also topped with broccoli, shredded pork, sweet peas, and smoked ham. It was so unusual but ultimately worked, salty and sweet, ooh it was so damn good! Who thinks of things like this! I want their job! Hehe.

Lee started with Lumpia which was spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce; he devoured it in about three seconds, so I think they went down well. He also had a Sacred Ground’s Beef Burger an Australian brisket, chuck & short rib beef make up this incredibly tender burger with melted Emmental cheese, crispy bacon, sliced tomato, house-made beetroot relish, seeded mustard aioli & fries. It was the best burger we had had in Bali to date! Yes, we had tried others, but this one was exactly what we would find in a decent burger joint back home. Soft a succulent! We will be going back for another one of them.

Okay so Bali is known for being cheap, but not all cheap is good. This place is incredibly reasonably priced but the food is of quality is tremendous and rival those unique hipster joints back home. I would one hundred percent pay these prices for this quality of food, definitely value for money.

This is a barrister cafe style place, very hipster but without the lack of substance, this place backs up its promise of good food and cozy dining.

There is plenty of moped parking and the back too so no excuses not to head in their direction right now.

Wayan our server, she was friendly and welcoming. It was nice to talk to her for a bit too; she made some great suggestions for us.

Trust me, one stop isn’t enough for this place, you’re always want to go back to try more.
