Located right in the heart of Brighton City centre this small eatery can very easily be overlooked. You will also be hard pressed to get a seat here, as it is more geared towards to grab and go. However, if you don’t mind standing you can get a sauce sampling ranging from £1 for 5 sauces, through to 20 for £3.40. We were fortunate that we managed to get a seat towards the back of the restaurant to sample the soft crispy fingers.
We ordered the large fries each with a 15 sauce sample share (much to my annoyance, haha). I cannot remember for the life of me what sauces we actually ordered in our sample. But, each one tasted unique and different from the rest. It was certainly a case of can I have some fries with that sauce. We lathered the chips in the various sauces. My personal favourite has to be Joppie Sauce. A firm favourite from when we were in Amsterdam a few years ago.
The fries themselves are just some of the best I have ever eaten. I was instantly transported back to Amsterdam where I first ate some Belgium Fries.

So, yes It is a small menu, and yes, it is a simple menu. But, the simples things done right is all that matters. The guys over at BeFries have done a Stirling job at bringing a touch of Belgium to the South Coast of England.

Unfortunately, BeFries has since closed down. We are deeply sad as this place was a real treat. However, there are more Belgium Fries joints opening up all the time in the city.
