So. We were in the small town of Ingham when we decided it was time to explore. Bring on the excellent TripAdvisor app.
After searching, I had decided on where to go. However, driving down I saw a sign for the Jourama Falls. Without hesitation, and an almost handbrake turn later. We were heading down this dirt track to an opening.
It was dead; I think when we arrived we were only the second car there. A quick glance of the sign, showing the track and walk to the falls, and we were on our way.
As you can see from the pictures, the boulders you come across are just enormous. It certainly showed that once upon a time a bigger stream flowed through this forest floor.
Then for something we did not expect! An epic walk up the hill to the falls, 600m it proclaimed. With the humid heat, it was certainly a slow walk. However, there is plenty of benches to stop and take in the stunning scenery. The sign we glanced over said it should take and hour and have a moderate grade. Yes, you can do the walk there and back in an hour. However, for this broken 30 year old legs, it was more like 2 hours.
However, the view when you get up there is just breathtaking. We will not spoil it too much with our pictures, but you can see some of the stunning views you will get along the way.
